The film follows the journey of Rob Cole as he leaves his hometown and travels across Europe to fulfill his dream of becoming a physician. Along the way, he faces various obstacles and challenges, including a lack of resources, persecution for his beliefs, and the constant threat of illness and death.
When he finally reaches Isfahan, he becomes a student of Ibn Sina, who teaches him the art of medicine and the importance of compassion and empathy in healing. Rob learns from the wise scholar and becomes a skilled healer in his own right.
Throughout his journey, Rob also encounters a variety of characters who shape his understanding of the world and his place in it. He forms close relationships with people from different cultures and backgrounds, including a Jewish doctor, a Muslim princess, and a Christian monk.
