Hubie is a quirky and unpopular penguin who lives in Antarctica. He has always admired and adored the beautiful Marina from afar but has never had the courage to express his feelings for her. Eventually, he decides to gather the courage and confess his love for her by presenting her with a perfect pebble, which symbolizes the love and commitment he has for her.
However, Drake, a menacing and threatening penguin who also has his sights set on Marina, sees Hubie's attempts to woo her as a threat to his own chances of winning her over. He devises a plan to eliminate Hubie from the equation, and throws him into the raging ocean.
As Hubie fights to survive in the treacherous waters, he is aided by several new friends, including a wacky and wise old penguin named Rocko, a kind-hearted whale named Weddell, and a group of fun-loving Adélie penguins. Together, they help Hubie to make it back to land, where he must gather all of his courage and strength to win Marina's heart and defeat his nemesis Drake.
