The down-on-his-luck crab fisherman in question is named Tyler, and he's played by Shia LaBeouf. After he gets into some trouble with his fellow fishermen, Tyler decides to make a run for it and ends up crossing paths with a young man named Zak (played by Zach Gottsagen) who has Down syndrome.
Zak has dreams of becoming a professional wrestler, and has been chafing under the restrictive environment of the retirement home where he's been living. Tyler takes pity on Zak and offers to help him get to the wrestling school run by his hero, the Salt Water Redneck (played by Thomas Haden Church).
Along the way, the odd couple encounter a variety of colorful characters, including a nursing home attendant (played by Dakota Johnson) who's hot on Zak's trail, and a pair of redneck thugs who are after Tyler.
The Peanut Butter Falcon is a heartwarming tale of friendship and redemption, packed with humor, action, and some beautiful scenery. It's a feel-good movie that will leave you with a smile on your face.
