The Padre follows retired Judge Randall Nemes (played by Nick Nolte) as he travels to a small Colombian town to track down a con man who is posed as a Catholic priest. Nemes is accompanied by his hired gun, Gaspar (played by Luis Guzmán), and they plan to bring the criminal to justice. However, their mission is complicated by the arrival of a 16-year-old girl called Angela (played by Sophie Lane Curtis).
Angela is determined to reunite with her sister in the United States and enlists the help of the unlikely pair. Together, they embark on a journey that takes them across Colombia, encountering dangerous criminals and corruption along the way.
As Nemes and Gaspar try to focus on capturing the con man, they find themselves becoming increasingly invested in Angela's mission and begin to see themselves in her plight. Throughout the film, the trio faces challenges that push them to their limits, including facing their own demons and making difficult choices.
