The movie stars Steve Martin and Goldie Hawn as the Clarks, who travel from their small Ohio town to New York City for Henry's job interview. Everything that could go wrong does go wrong, from their flight being rerouted to Boston, to losing their luggage, to being robbed, to getting lost in the city, and even getting arrested.
Throughout their misadventures, they meet a series of eccentric characters, including a taxi driver with a love for opera, a con man who steals their money, and a homeless man who offers them advice. Despite their setbacks, the Clarks persevere and ultimately make it to Henry's interview, where things take a surprising turn.
The Out-of-Towners is a comedy full of slapstick humor and witty one-liners, with Martin and Hawn's chemistry making for a delightful on-screen duo. The film is directed by Sam Weisman and also stars John Cleese and Mark McKinney in supporting roles.
