The Outfit follows Leonard, played by Mark Strong, as he struggles to come to terms with the loss of his family and ends up in Chicago. He sets up his tailor shop and is quickly noticed by a local crime family, who begin to frequent his shop and eventually persuade him to create suits for them.
Despite the dangerous nature of his new clientele, Leonard is proud of the quality of his work and becomes increasingly drawn into the world of organized crime. But as he becomes more involved, he begins to learn about the dark side of the gangster world and the risks he's taking.
The family's leader, played by Giancarlo Esposito, takes a liking to Leonard and offers him a position within the organization. Leonard is initially hesitant but ultimately decides to accept, seeing it as a chance to bring some stability to his life and to use his skills for good.
However, as Leonard becomes more entrenched in the family's affairs, he starts to realize that the line between right and wrong is not as clear-cut as he had thought. The Outfit is a tense and engaging drama that explores the ethics of loyalty, the price of success and the importance of family.
