Throughout the film, we see Will struggling to balance his day job at a computer programming company with his love for comedy. He is also dealing with pressure from his conservative parents who want him to pursue a more stable career.

As he prepares for the big show opening for Billy G, Will faces challenges such as stage fright, criticism from other comedians, and doubts about his own talent. However, with the help of his mentor, he gradually gains confidence and starts to find his own voice as a comedian.

On the night of the show, Will must confront his fears and make a decision about his future. Will he continue to play it safe and stick to his day job, or will he take a leap of faith and pursue his dreams of becoming a successful comedian? The film ultimately explores themes of self-discovery, following one's passion, and the courage it takes to pursue unconventional paths in life.
