In The One, the alternate universe version of the sheriff's deputy (played by Jet Li) is a ruthless and power-hungry individual who goes by the name Gabriel Yulaw. He believes that there are multiple alternate universes existing simultaneously and that each version of himself is linked by a cosmic energy. Yulaw becomes obsessed with the idea of uniting all of his alternate selves in order to become the most powerful being in the multiverse.
As Yulaw goes on a killing spree, eliminating his alternate selves one by one, he grows stronger with each victory, gaining increased speed, strength, and agility. The sheriff's deputy, known as Gabe Law in his own world, is alerted to Yulaw's actions and realizes that he must stop him before he becomes unstoppable.
Gabe Law teams up with a team of multiverse agents who travel between dimensions to track down Yulaw and prevent him from achieving his goal. As the two versions of themselves clash in epic battles across different universes, Gabe Law must confront his own darkness and inner demons in order to defeat his doppelganger and protect the balance of the multiverse.
Ultimately, Gabe Law comes face to face with Yulaw in a final showdown where he must make a life-changing decision that will determine the fate of both himself and the entire multiverse. The One is a high-energy, action-packed sci-fi thriller that explores themes of identity, destiny, and the consequences of one's choices.
