Cristina arrives in Veracruz to report on a story about Brujería, a traditional form of sorcery and healing. She decides to visit her grandmother, who lives in a small village in the region. During her visit, strange things start happening; she sees apparitions and hears voices calling out to her. Her grandmother reveals to her a shocking family secret and warns her about the dangers of revealing her true identity in the village.
One night, Cristina is kidnapped by a group of locals who accuse her of being the devil incarnated. They believe that her family has a curse on them, and she's there to complete the curse. They perform a series of rituals on her, including bloodletting, to cure her of the curse. However, Cristina believes that these rituals may be a cover-up for an ulterior motive.
As she tries to escape, she discovers the dark truth about her family's history and the real reason behind her kidnapping. She realizes that she must confront her past and the village's dark secrets if she wants to survive and protect herself and her family.
