The Nutcracker and the Four Realms follows the story of Clara Stahlbaum, a young girl who is trying to come to terms with the death of her mother. On Christmas Eve, she receives a gift from her godfather, Drosselmeyer, a decorated egg-shaped box with a note saying that inside is all she will ever need. However, the key to open the box is missing.
Clara goes on a quest to find the key and travels to a magical world called the Four Realms, where she encounters a nutcracker soldier named Phillip who promises to help her find the key. Together, they journey through the Land of Snowflakes, the Land of Flowers, and the Land of Sweets.
However, they soon learn that the once beautiful and harmonious Fourth Realm has fallen under the rule of the evil Mother Ginger. Clara and Phillip must team up with the Sugar Plum Fairy and other inhabitants of the three good realms to defeat Mother Ginger and restore balance to the world.
Along the way, Clara learns to believe in herself and to never give up. She also discovers that her mother had a connection to the magical world and her adventures there help her come to terms with her loss.
The film features stunning visual effects, intricate costumes, and beautiful dances choreographed by Misty Copeland. It stars Mackenzie Foy as Clara, Jayden Fowora-Knight as Phillip, Keira Knightley as the Sugar Plum Fairy, Helen Mirren as Mother Ginger, and Morgan Freeman as Drosselmeyer.
