The Nightmare Before Christmas is a 1993 stop-motion animated musical dark fantasy film directed by Henry Selick and produced and conceived by Tim Burton. The film follows the story of Jack Skellington, the pumpkin king of Halloween Town who becomes tired of the same old Halloween scare every year and goes on a journey of self-discovery to find new ways of delivering scares. One evening, he stumbles upon Christmas Town and is enchanted by the celebration of Christmas, and decides to take over the holiday himself.
With the help of his Halloween Town cronies, Jack kidnaps Santa Claus and takes over the role of delivering Christmas presents, using his own unique, spooktacular style. Sally warns Jack that his plan to take over Christmas is a mistake, but he refuses to listen and proceeds with his plan, setting the stage for a Christmas disaster.
