In the movie The Night We Never Met, Sam is a sensitive and responsible man who is frustrated with his roommates' lack of cleanliness and consideration. He decides to sublet a small apartment in Manhattan with two other people, Brian and Ellen. The three of them agree to share the space, with each person having their separate nights to use the apartment.
Sam is happy with the arrangement as he can escape from his messy roommates for two nights a week. Brian, however, is not interested in using the apartment for peaceful solitude, but rather as a place to entertain his girlfriends.
Ellen is a woman who is married to a boring man and uses the apartment as an escape from her dull life. She also happens to be an aspiring artist who draws and paints in the apartment.
The confusion starts when Sam and Brian swap nights without informing Ellen, who believes that Brian is responsible for the nice things that happen around the apartment. She assumes that Brian is the sensitive and considerate person, while Sam is a hedonistic slob.
Brian is soon to be married to his girlfriend, and Ellen is keen to get a divorce and continue her artistic career. When the three of them finally figure out what is happening and confront each other, they come to a realization that they all have their issues and are seeking something out of the apartment.
The Night We Never Met is a romantic comedy that explores the differences between people and how they learn to tolerate and accept each other. It's a lighthearted film with relatable characters and a charming storyline.
