The Night Before is a comedic movie directed by Jonathan Levine and stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Seth Rogen, and Anthony Mackie as three best friends who have been celebrating Christmas Eve together every year since Ethan (Gordon-Levitt) lost his parents in a car accident on that same night many years ago.
Their annual tradition involves getting drunk, high, and causing chaos all over the city. However, as they have grown older, Isaac (Rogen) is about to become a father and Chris (Mackie) has become a successful athlete, leaving Ethan feeling left behind.
In an attempt to end their tradition with a bang, the trio decides to attend the ultimate Christmas party, which is known as the Nutcracka Ball, and rumor has it that it is the exclusive party that nobody can get into. Along their journey, they encounter various obstacles, including a drug-fueled adventure, run-ins with a group of angry Santas, and encounters with the past that threatens to shake up their once-unshakable bond.
