The New Guy is a teen comedy film directed by Ed Decter and released in 2002. The film revolves around the life of Dizzy Harrison, a nerdy high school senior who constantly gets bullied by his classmates. Tired of being an outcast, Dizzy hatches a plan to get expelled so that he can reinvent himself as a cool, popular kid at a new school.
To achieve his goal, Dizzy befriends the school's infamous ex-convict, Luther, who teaches him the ways of the "badass cool." After undergoing an extreme makeover, Dizzy becomes a new guy, a confident and popular student who catches the attention of everyone in his new school.
As Dizzy enjoys the perks of his new identity, his former best friend, Nora, becomes suspicious of his sudden transformation. Meanwhile, the notorious ex-con, Luther, sees an opportunity to use Dizzy as a pawn in his own criminal schemes.
As the story unfolds, Dizzy finds himself caught up in a web of lies and deceit that threatens to expose his true identity. In a race against time, Dizzy must navigate through a series of hilarious mishaps, wild parties, and high school drama to win his friends back and prove to everyone that he is more than just a new guy.
