The NeverEnding Story follows the story of a young boy named Bastian who often finds himself the target of bullies at school. While running from them, he hides in the attic of his school and comes across a book titled The Neverending Story. As he begins to read it, he finds himself drawn into the world of Fantasia, a place threatened by the darkness of The Nothing.
In Fantasia, Bastian becomes aware of a young warrior named Atreyu who is on a mission to save the land from The Nothing. Along the way, Atreyu encounters a number of challenges and dangers, including giant spiders, a maze of mirrors, and a terrifying wolf named Gmork.
Atreyu is aided in his mission by a number of creatures, including the kind and wise Rock Biter, the playful and curious Luck Dragon named Falkor, and the capable and tireless Night Hob.
As Bastian reads further into the book, he discovers that his own actions are able to directly impact the events of the story. With this knowledge, he is able to help Atreyu in his quest and ultimately save Fantasia from destruction.
