In The Musketeer, D'Artagnan ventures to Paris in search of the musketeers, only to discover that they have been disbanded by the Cardinal Richelieu and replaced with a corrupt and brutal new guard. D'Artagnan forms a bond with three former musketeers - Athos, Porthos, and Aramis – who have become disillusioned and retired from service.
Together, they embark on a mission to overthrow the Cardinal's corrupt regime and restore the rightful king to the throne. Along the way, D'Artagnan falls in love with a beautiful woman named Francesca and engages in thrilling sword fights and daring escapes.
The film stars Justin Chambers as D'Artagnan, Tim Roth as Cardinal Richelieu, Catherine Deneuve as the Queen, and Mena Suvari as Francesca. Unlike other adaptations of the classic tale, The Musketeer features a heavy reliance on stylized action sequences, including wirework and slow-motion, as well as a modern, rock-infused soundtrack.
