Ryan, a beloved elementary school teacher, discovers that he is colorblind when he fails a routine eye exam. At first, he tries to hide his condition from his colleagues and students, but soon learns that he can no longer identify certain colors correctly. This makes teaching art, science, and even reading difficult for him.
Feeling embarrassed and ashamed, Ryan becomes isolated and withdrawn from his friends and family. However, one of his student's mothers, Michelle, takes an interest in him and is determined to help him overcome his color blindness.
As an optometrist, Michelle is able to offer him some advice and guidance. She lends him special glasses that can help him see colors more accurately, as well as books and tools to help him teach his students about color theory.
For the holidays, Ryan's class decides to put on a play about the different colors of Christmas, with Ryan as the director. Michelle helps him design the set and costumes, allowing him to see the colors in a new way.
Through Michelle's support and guidance, Ryan learns to embrace his color blindness and turns it into an asset in the classroom. Together, they create the most colorful and heartwarming holiday play that the school has ever seen.
