The Morning After is a 1986 American mystery thriller film directed by Sidney Lumet and produced by Bruce Gilbert. The film stars Jane Fonda as Alex Sternbergen, who is an actress struggling to keep her career afloat. After a wild night of heavy drinking, she wakes up in an unfamiliar apartment with no memory of the previous evening and a dead man lying next to her.
