The Mighty Macs is a sports drama film directed by Tim Chambers. It is inspired by the true story of Cathy Rush who became the head coach of basketball at Immaculata College in Pennsylvania. At the time, women's basketball was not given much attention, and the team had cut short funding, causing the girls to play in skirts and share a gym with the school's volleyball team. But despite all odds, Cathy's determination and confidence helped her team find their untapped potential and go undefeated all the way to the first national championship. Her leadership and unorthodox methods of training, including her unique "triangle offense," ultimately bring about a powerful sisterhood and inspire the school's nuns and faculty to support the team. The Mighty Macs celebrates the outsiders who break barriers and proves that champions come in all sizes. The movie features Carla Gugino as Cathy, David Boreanaz as her husband, and Marley Shelton as one of her players.
