The Revolution of Recruitment: Challenging Globalization Through Selection

Drama,Thriller  Argentina,Spain

The Method is a Spanish thriller film released in 2005 and directed by Marcelo Piñeyro. The film is based on a play by Jordi Galcerán and explores the intense competition and manipulation that takes place in corporate job interviews.

The plot follows seven candidates who have applied for a position at a large corporation. They are brought into a windowless room and are told that they must participate in a series of psychological tests and group activities known as "the Grönholm method". The tests are designed to assess the candidates' ability to work in a stressful and competitive environment.

As the candidates begin to compete for the job, tensions rise and alliances shift. Some candidates resort to manipulation and deceit to gain an edge, while others struggle to maintain their integrity. The candidates are also thrown off course by the presence of a mysterious woman who seems to have her own agenda.

Meanwhile, outside the building, protestors are demonstrating against the IMF-World Bank Summit and the impact of globalisation on workers' unions. This provides a backdrop of social and political tension that adds to the pressure already felt by the candidates.

As the tests progress, the candidates' true natures are revealed and the competition becomes increasingly cutthroat. The conclusion of the film offers a chilling commentary on the nature of corporate greed and the sacrifices that individuals are willing to make in the pursuit of success.
