The Mechanik, also known as The Russian Specialist, is a 2005 action-thriller film directed by Dolph Lundgren, who also stars as the main character, Nikolai Cherenko.
Nikolai is a retired hit man who has relocated to the United States and has been running a successful body shop business. However, his peaceful life is disrupted when he receives news that his estranged son, Anton (Ivan Petrushinov), has been killed in a gang-related incident in Russia.
In an effort to seek vengeance and closure, Nikolai travels back to Russia to investigate Anton's death. He soon discovers that his son was involved with the Russian mob and had been working for them as a skilled mechanic. As Nikolai delves deeper into the criminal underworld, he realizes that his former employers are behind his son's murder.
