The Mechanic is a 2011 action thriller movie directed by Simon West. The film stars Jason Statham as Arthur Bishop, a hitman who executes his targets with unflinching precision and detachment. One day, his mentor and friend Harry (played by Donald Sutherland) is killed by another hitman, and Bishop is tasked with taking out the responsible party in revenge. However, as Bishop begins to investigate, he realizes that Harry's death was not as straightforward as it initially seemed. As he carries out his mission, Bishop is forced to confront his own morals and question whether his line of work is truly justifiable. Along the way, he meets a young man named Steve (played by Ben Foster) who seeks to become Bishop's apprentice and learn the ways of the mechanic.
