The Marrying Man is a romantic comedy film released in 1991, directed by Jerry Rees and starring Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger. The movie is loosely based on the real-life story of the tumultuous relationship between Hollywood actors Joan Collins and Warren Beatty.

Charley Pearl is a wealthy playboy from New York who is engaged to Adele, the daughter of a powerful Hollywood producer. During a bachelor party in Las Vegas, Charley meets Vicki Anderson, a beautiful nightclub singer, and the two are instantly attracted to each other. They end up spending the night together and Charley falls in love with her.

However, things take a dangerous turn when Vicki's boyfriend, notorious gangster Bugsy Siegel, finds out about their affair. Bugsy informs Charley that he must marry Vicki or he will be killed. Charley agrees to marry Vicki, but the couple's rocky relationship is tested by their different backgrounds, personalities, and the constant threat of Bugsy's hitmen.

Meanwhile, Adele is left heartbroken and humiliated by Charley's infidelity. She refuses to accept his marriage to Vicki and tries everything in her power to stop the wedding, even going as far as hiring a private investigator to uncover Vicki's past.

As the wedding date approaches, tensions rise and Charley is faced with a difficult choice: either he marries the woman he truly loves, or he gives in to the demands of the dangerous gangster and saves his own life.

The Marrying Man received mixed reviews from critics and was a box office failure, but the movie is still remembered for its charismatic performances by Baldwin and Basinger, as well as its glamorous portrayal of Hollywood in the 1940s.
