The Marriage of Maria Braun is a 1978 German film directed by Rainer Werner Fassbinder. Set in the aftermath of World War II, the film focuses on Maria Braun (played by Hanna Schygulla), a woman who is left alone after her husband Hermann (Klaus Lรถwitsch) goes off to fight in the war.
