The Mangler Reborn is a horror film directed by Erik Gardner. The film is a sequel to the 1995 film, The Mangler, which was based on a short story by Stephen King. The movie follows the story of a man named Hadley, who becomes obsessed with an industrial laundry machine.
Hadley works at a local laundry facility and is tasked with maintaining a large and dangerous machine known as "The Mangler." The machine has a history of causing accidents and even deaths, but Hadley believes that he can make it work perfectly. He begins to spend all his free time in the facility, tinkering with the machine and neglecting his relationships with his wife and son.
As Hadley's obsession grows, so too does the danger posed by the machine. Several of his coworkers are killed in horrific accidents, and eventually, the machine becomes possessed by a malevolent spirit. Hadley himself begins to exhibit strange and violent behavior, and it becomes clear that the machine has somehow taken control of him.
The Mangler Reborn is a dark and gruesome film, with plenty of gory death scenes and supernatural scares. The movie explores themes of obsession, addiction, and the dangers of unchecked ambition. While it is a standalone film in its own right, fans of Stephen King's work will appreciate the connections to his original story and the nods to his distinctive style of horror.
