The Man is a 2005 American comedy film directed by Les Mayfield and starring Samuel L. Jackson and Eugene Levy. The film follows Special Agent Derrick Vann, an undercover federal agent working for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), who is on a mission to track down a dangerous criminal named Joey Trent. Trent is the man responsible for the murder of Vann's partner, and Vann is determined to bring him to justice.

However, Vann's plans are interrupted when he is paired with Andy Fidler, an uptight and overly talkative dental supplies salesman who is in town for a convention. The two are thrown together by a case of mistaken identity, and Vann is forced to drag Fidler along with him as he tries to track down Trent and his accomplices.

As Vann and Fidler embark on their wild adventure, they must navigate a series of dangerous situations, including shootouts, car chases, and explosions. Along the way, they form an unlikely bond as they learn to work together to take down Trent and his criminal organization.

The film was a moderate commercial success, grossing over $10 million at the box office. It received mixed reviews from critics, with some praising Jackson and Levy's chemistry and the film's comedic moments, while others criticized the predictable plot and lack of originality.
