The man is taken in by a group of homeless people who live in a container yard and befriends them. He starts a romance with a Salvation Army worker named Irma, who helps him get back on his feet. Together, they try to solve the mystery of his past and find out who he really is. Meanwhile, a local gangster is causing trouble for the community, and the man must decide whether or not to intervene. Along the way, the film explores themes of love, compassion, and the importance of community. The Man Without a Past was critically acclaimed and won the Grand Prix award at the 2002 Cannes Film Festival.
