Dr. Leon Kravaal, played by Boris Karloff, is a brilliant but controversial scientist who is convinced that solution to curing cancer lies in freezing the human body. Despite facing opposition from the medical community and the government, Kravaal continues his experiments in a secret laboratory where he freezes human patients for extended periods of time, hoping to revive them later with his experimental cure.
Things take a shocking turn when Kravaal's assistant, Dr. Mason, dies during one of the experiments, prompting the authorities to investigate Kravaal for murder. In a desperate attempt to avoid capture, Kravaal freezes himself and the officials who have come to arrest him in his cryogenic chamber. The experiment goes wrong, and everyone is cryogenically frozen for decades.
Years later, a group of scientists discovers the cryogenic chamber and revives Kravaal and the frozen officials, hoping to finally find a cure for cancer. Kravaal is convinced that he can complete his cure, but quickly becomes embroiled in a web of greed and jealousy as the other scientists try to steal his research and take credit for his work.
As Kravaal races against time to finish his work and find a way to prevent his patients from dying, he must also fight to protect his groundbreaking research and keep it out of the wrong hands. Ultimately, the film is a cautionary tale about the perils of scientific ambition and the dangers of unchecked greed.
