In the movie, Sergeant Logan Thibault discovers the photograph of Beth while on a mission in Iraq. He believes that the photograph kept him safe during his tours and decides to track down the woman in the picture when he returns to the United States.
Logan finds Beth, a divorced mother who runs a kennel with her grandmother. When he first approaches her, she is wary of him, but he ends up getting a job at the kennel and helping with repairs around the property. Over time, Logan and Beth become close, and a romance develops between them.
However, there are complications in their relationship. Beth's ex-husband, Keith, is jealous of Logan and becomes increasingly aggressive in his attempts to win her back. Additionally, Logan struggles with PTSD and has nightmares and flashbacks about his time in Iraq.
As Logan and Beth's relationship deepens, they must confront their past traumas and decide if they are able to overcome them together. In the end, they must make a choice about their future and whether they are willing to take a chance on love.
