The Long Kiss Goodnight is a 1996 action thriller directed by Renny Harlin and starring Geena Davis and Samuel L. Jackson. The film revolves around Samantha Caine, a small-town teacher and mother who lives a peaceful life in Honesdale, Pennsylvania. However, when Samantha suffers a head injury, she starts to remember snippets of her past life as a highly skilled CIA assassin named Charly Baltimore.
With the help of private investigator Mitch Henessey (Jackson), Samantha sets out to uncover the truth about her past and discovers a web of conspiracy and corruption involving her former employers in the government. Together, Samantha and Mitch must race against time to stop a group of terrorists from carrying out a deadly attack on American soil.
Throughout the course of the film, Samantha struggles to reconcile her identity as both a loving mother and a ruthless killer. She must also fight off her former colleagues, who want to eliminate her and anyone else who knows too much about their illicit activities.
The Long Kiss Goodnight is known for its fast-paced action sequences and sharp wit, as well as the dynamic chemistry between Davis and Jackson. It received mixed reviews upon its initial release but has since become a cult favorite among fans of the action genre.
