The Living Dead Girl

Horror  France

The Living Dead Girl is a French horror film directed by Jean Rollin and released in 1982. The story centers around Catherine Valmont, a beautiful heiress who died in a car accident ten years prior to the events of the film. Catherine's childhood friend, Hélène, works at a chemical plant that accidentally spills toxic waste on Catherine's tomb, reviving her from the dead.

Hélène takes Catherine back to her family's chateau, where Catherine quickly realizes that she can only survive by drinking human blood. Hélène attempts to help her friend by luring victims to the chateau, but their actions soon draw the attention of the police and Catherine's former lover, who is now engaged to Hélène.

As Catherine's thirst for blood becomes more and more insatiable, Hélène begins to question whether keeping her friend alive is worth the cost. The Living Dead Girl is a gory and unsettling exploration of the consequences of bringing someone back from the dead, and the lengths to which one person will go to help a friend.
