The Little Shop of Horrors is a comedic horror musical film directed by Frank Oz and released in 1986. The film is based on a stage musical of the same name, which itself was based on the 1960 film of the same name.

The film stars Rick Moranis as Seymour, a nerdy, down-on-his-luck florist's assistant who is secretly in love with his co-worker Audrey, played by Ellen Greene. Seymour makes a stunning discovery when he finds a strange and unusual plant during a total eclipse of the sun. The plant, which Seymour names Audrey II, has an insatiable desire for human flesh and blood and can talk to Seymour in a deep, threatening voice.

As the plant grows, Seymour realizes that he must feed it to keep it alive. The problem is that Audrey II's appetite grows as well, and Seymour soon finds himself resorting to murder to keep the plant satisfied. Meanwhile, Audrey finds herself trapped in a cycle of abuse with her sadistic, abusive boyfriend, Orin (Steve Martin).

As Seymour's fame as a florist grows due to the success of Audrey II, he must decide whether to continue feeding the plant or risk losing everything he has worked for.

The film was a critical and commercial success, praised for its dark humor, catchy songs, and innovative special effects. It has since gained a cult following and is considered a classic of the horror-comedy genre.
