Rynn lives in a sprawling, old house with her father, a famous poet, who is always away on his literary endeavors. But when the landlady's son, Frank, becomes suspicious of Rynn's father's absence and starts poking around their property, Rynn becomes increasingly uneasy. Frank's unwanted attention turns into something more sinister, and Rynn realizes she must take matters into her own hands to protect herself and her secret.
With the help of Mario, a teenage boy who lives next door, Rynn creates a series of elaborate lies to cover up her father's absence and keep Frank from uncovering the truth. However, as Frank becomes more persistent and menacing, the situation becomes increasingly dangerous for Rynn and her father's secret. In the end, Rynn must make a desperate decision to protect her home and her way of life.
