The Life Before Her Eyes follows Diana, played by actress Evan Rachel Wood, as she navigates her present-day life as a high school teacher and mother, while simultaneously being haunted by memories of the tragic shooting that took place fifteen years earlier. Diana's flashback memories of that fateful day reveal a friendship with Maureen, played by actress Eva Amurri, that was fraught with secrets and complexities, ultimately leading to Maureen's death.

As Diana grapples with the guilt of surviving the shooting, she begins to question her own sanity and reality, leading her to reexamine her present day relationships and decisions. Throughout the film, themes of grief, loss, trauma and redemption are explored, as Diana attempts to come to terms with her past and find a way to move forward in the present.

Directed by Vadim Perelman and based on the novel by Laura Kasischke, The Life Before Her Eyes is a gripping and thought-provoking exploration of survivor's guilt, mental health, and the ways in which our past experiences shape our present and future.
