Drunken Master's Fight for Heritage

Action,Comedy  Hong Kong

The Legend of Drunken Master, also known as Drunken Master II, is a 1994 Hong Kong action-comedy film directed by Lau Kar-leung and starring Jackie Chan. The film is a sequel to Chan's 1978 film Drunken Master, but it is not a direct continuation of the earlier film's plot. In this movie, Chan plays Wong Fei-Hong, a legendary martial artist in Chinese history.

The story begins with Wong Fei-Hong returning home with his father, Wong Kei-Ying (played by Ti Lung), after a shopping expedition. They are carrying a valuable antique Chinese artifact, a bronze head of the goddess Guan Yin, which they plan to sell to a collector.

However, they are ambushed by a group of foreign thugs led by an Englishman named Henry, who wants the bronze head for his own collection. Wong Fei-Hong fights back using his unique Drunken Boxing style, which involves feigning drunkenness to throw off his opponents. He manages to defeat the foreign thugs, but accidentally damages the bronze head in the process.

This leads to a complicated series of events involving corrupt officials and Chinese loyalists who want to prevent any more of their country's cultural artifacts from being taken out of the country by foreigners. Meanwhile, Wong Fei-Hong must also overcome his own father's disappointment in his behavior and prove himself as a worthy successor to his martial arts legacy.

The movie is notable for its humorous tone, fast-paced action sequences, and Jackie Chan's trademark acrobatic martial arts choreography. It has become a classic of the kung fu genre and is widely regarded as one of Chan's best films.
