The Legend of Baron To’a is a New Zealand action-comedy film directed by Kiel McNaughton and co-written by McNaughton and John Argall. It stars Uli Latukefu as Fritz, a former pro wrestler who has returned to his hometown of Otahuhu in Auckland, New Zealand to take care of his late father's house and estate. Upon his return, Fritz discovers that his father's championship belt, known as "The Baron's Belt," has been stolen by a local gang led by Tahu (John Tui), a former friend of Fritz's who has since become a ruthless criminal.
Fritz quickly realizes that the only way to retrieve the belt is to become the Baron himself, taking on the persona and wrestling skills of his father. With the help of his father's former tag team partner, Roy (Nathaniel Lees), and a cast of colorful characters from the local community, Fritz trains tirelessly to regain his family's honor and reclaim the prized title belt.
Along the way, Fritz must confront his own personal demons and the dark history of his wrestling community, as he faces off against Tahu and his gang in a final showdown that will determine the future of Otahuhu and the legacy of the Baron. The film blends elements of action, comedy, drama, and Tongan culture to create a unique and entertaining story that celebrates the power of family and community.
