The Legend Is Born: Ip Man is a Hong Kong biographical martial arts film directed by Herman Yau and released in 2010. The movie chronicles the early life of Bruce Lee's teacher and Wing Chun Grandmaster, Ip Man, from his childhood in Foshan, China through to his experiences as a novice in Hong Kong and ultimately his emergence as one of the greatest martial arts masters of all time.
The film features an all-star cast, including Dennis To as Ip Man, who received wide acclaim for his portrayal of the legendary martial arts master. Sammo Hung also stars in the film as Chan Wah-shun, Ip Man's first Wing Chun teacher, and Yuen Biao plays Leung Bik, another of Ip Man's influential mentors.
