The Lebanese Burger Mafia

Documentary  Canada

The filmmaker, a Lebanese-Canadian named Rami, inherits a Burger Baron franchise in a small town in Alberta after his father passes away. Upon taking over the business, Rami begins to notice strange occurrences and encounters with a group of Arab immigrants who seem to have a deep connection to the fast-food chain.

As Rami delves deeper into the history of Burger Baron, he uncovers a dark and mysterious past involving a secretive group known as the Lebanese Burger Mafia. This group, rumored to have ties to organized crime, has been using the Burger Baron franchises as a front for their illegal activities.

As Rami follows the clues and interviews Arab immigrants in the community, he learns about the challenges they face in a predominantly white town, struggling to make a living and facing discrimination. The filmmaker becomes determined to expose the truth about the Burger Baron and the Lebanese Burger Mafia, even as he puts himself in danger by getting too close to the dangerous world of organized crime.

Through interviews with former employees, local residents, and members of the Lebanese Burger Mafia, Rami uncovers a web of corruption, greed, and betrayal that spans generations. The film ultimately reveals the power struggles within the fast-food chain and the lengths to which people will go to protect their secrets.

In the end, Rami must confront his own family's involvement in the Burger Baron saga and make a difficult choice about whether to continue his father's legacy or expose the truth and risk everything he holds dear.
