The Lazarus Project is a psychological thriller film directed by John Patrick Glenn and stars Paul Walker as protagonist Ben Garvey. The film was released in 2008 and follows the story of a man who is sentenced to death row for his involvement in a botched robbery. However, as he is being executed, he is granted a second chance at life by an unknown source.
Ben wakes up in a strange mental hospital, where he is informed that he has been given a second chance at life in exchange for working as a groundskeeper at the facility. The hospital staff informs him that he has been resurrected from the dead and that his soul is in a fragile state. They claim that they are helping him to heal and that he will be released once they are sure that he is stable.
