The Last Song, released in 2010, is an American coming-of-age drama film based on the novel of the same name by Nicholas Sparks. It stars Miley Cyrus as Ronnie Miller, a teenage girl who is sent to a coastal town in Georgia to spend the summer with her estranged father, Steve Miller (played by Greg Kinnear), a former classical pianist who now runs the town's aquarium.

Ronnie initially resents her father for leaving her family and blames him for her parents' divorce. However, as she begins to bond with him over their shared passion for music, she also develops a romantic relationship with a local boy named Will Blakelee (Liam Hemsworth). Will is persistent in trying to get to know Ronnie despite her initial resistance, and they eventually fall in love.

The film explores themes of forgiveness, family, and first love, as Ronnie learns to let go of her anger towards her father and accepts him back into her life. It also features a subplot involving Steve's struggle to save the endangered sea turtles in his aquarium.

Directed by Julie Anne Robinson, The Last Song received mixed reviews from critics but was a commercial success, grossing over $88 million worldwide. It was also notable for marking Cyrus' transition from her previous image in Disney's Hannah Montana franchise to more mature roles.
