The Last Mercenary

Action,Comedy  France

The Last Mercenary is a French action-comedy film directed by David Charhon and starring Jean-Claude Van Damme. Van Damme plays the role of Richard Brumere, also known as "The Mist," a legendary former secret service agent who has been living off the grid in the Middle East for the past 25 years.

One day, Brumere receives a call from his former lover, who tells him that his estranged son, Archibald (played by Samir Decazza), has been falsely accused of arms and drug trafficking by the French government. The accusation is the result of a blunder by an overzealous bureaucrat and a mafia operation, which has been using Archibald's identity to smuggle weapons and drugs into the country.

Realizing that he must act quickly to clear his son's name and bring down the criminal operation, Brumere heads back to France, where he reunites with old friends and faces off against numerous enemies. Along the way, he also discovers that he has a 23-year-old daughter, whom he had no idea existed.

The Last Mercenary is a fast-paced and action-packed film that blends humor, drama, and thrilling fight scenes. Van Damme delivers a standout performance as the charismatic and unconventional hero, while the supporting cast also does an excellent job of bringing the story to life.
