"The Last Laugh" is a dark comedy film directed by Greg Pritikin. The movie follows the life of a veteran stand-up comedian named Al Hart, played by Chevy Chase, who has not performed for over a decade, and his young manager, Kevin (played by Richard Dreyfuss), who convinces him to hit the road again for one more shot at success.
The duo starts the tour with a couple of disastrous shows before discovering that there is a serial killer on the loose in the theater where they are set to perform their biggest act. Al and Kevin must devise a plan to catch the killer before the show starts and save their lives.
The duo's investigation leads them to visit a mental hospital where they meet some of the patients who may have more information about the killer. As they dig deeper, they discover more secrets and twists as they try to avoid becoming the killer's next targets.
The movie explores the darker side of the comedy industry, showcasing the struggles of a stand-up comedian on the verge of breakout success while maintaining a comedic tone. The Last Laugh is a mix of comedy and suspense, with a talented cast, including Andie MacDowell, Kate Micucci, and Chris Parnell, adding to its charm.
