The Last Champion is a 2020 drama film directed by Glenn Withrow. The movie follows John Wright, a former Olympic gold medalist who becomes embroiled in a doping scandal and is subsequently banned from competing for life. Following his mother's death, John returns to his hometown in a bid to reconnect with his past and make amends for his past mistakes.
However, John is met with anger and resentment from the townspeople who refuse to forgive him for his actions. The only person who offers him a glimmer of hope is the local high school coach, who recruits John to coach the struggling high school wrestling team. With his expertise and guidance, John helps the team overcome their own personal struggles and become champions.
As John helps the team, he also begins to rebuild his own life and comes to terms with his past mistakes. But when his past threatens to catch up with him, John is forced to confront the demons that have haunted him for years and fight for redemption.
