The Krays: Dead Man Walking is a 2018 British crime drama film directed by Richard John Taylor. The movie is based on the true story of the infamous Kray twins – Reggie and Ronnie – who were known for their organized crime activities in East London during the 1950s and 1960s.
In December 1966, the Krays hatch a plan to break Frank Mitchell – a violent and unstable ex-soldier nicknamed "The Mad Axeman" – from Dartmoor Prison. To do so, they enlist the help of their henchman Billy Frost, who poses as a potential buyer for Mitchell's services and gains access to the prison.
After several failed attempts to break Mitchell out, the Krays finally succeed and take him to a safe house in Barking. But their plan goes awry when Mitchell becomes increasingly volatile and unpredictable, making the Krays fear for their own safety.
As tensions mount, the Krays must make a decision about Mitchell's fate, and they soon realize that their actions have caught the attention of the police and put their criminal empire at risk.
The movie features an ensemble cast, including Marc Pickering as Reggie Kray, Nathanjohn Carter as Ronnie Kray, and Josh Myers as Frank Mitchell. It was praised for its authentic portrayal of the Krays and their criminal activities, as well as for its gritty and atmospheric depiction of 1960s London.
