The King Is Dead! is an Australian black comedy film directed by Rolf de Heer and released in 2012. The film's plot centers around a couple, Max and Therese, who move into a new neighborhood in Adelaide and find themselves caught between two neighboring families with very different personalities and lifestyles.

Their plan involves staging a fake home invasion and kidnapping the ringleader of the drug operation.
