The Kids Are All Right is a 2010 comedy-drama film directed by Lisa Cholodenko and starring Annette Bening, Julianne Moore, and Mark Ruffalo. The film is centered around the story of a lesbian couple, Nic and Jules, and their two teenage children, Joni and Laser, who were both born through artificial insemination from the same sperm donor.

After Joni turns 18, she and her younger brother Laser become curious about their biological father and decide to track him down. They find him, an easygoing restaurateur named Paul, and begin to develop a relationship with him behind their mothers' backs.

As the relationships between Paul, Nic, Jules, Joni, and Laser become more entangled, tensions rise, and secrets are revealed. Nic, a successful doctor and the more uptight of the two mothers, becomes jealous of the bond that is forming between Jules, who is struggling to find purpose in her life, and Paul. Meanwhile, Joni and Laser have to grapple with their feelings about their unconventional family and the impact their actions have on everyone around them.

Throughout the film, The Kids Are All Right explores themes of modern family dynamics, sexual identity, and the complexities of relationships. It was critically acclaimed and received several award nominations, including four at the 83rd Academy Awards. The film ultimately won Best Feature Film at the 2010 Berlin International Film Festival.
