The Karate Kid Part II is a 1986 American martial arts drama film directed by John G. Avildsen. The movie is the sequel to the 1984 film, The Karate Kid and stars Pat Morita and Ralph Macchio.

The movie begins with Mr. Miyagi receiving a letter from his hometown of Okinawa, Japan, informing him that his father is dying. Mr. Miyagi decides to return to Okinawa to be by his father's side. Daniel accompanies him on the trip, excited about seeing a new place.

Upon their arrival, Mr. Miyagi reunites with an old flame named Yukie, who he has not seen in over 40 years. This stirs up trouble with an old rival, Sato, who never forgave Mr. Miyagi for leaving Okinawa years ago. Sato challenges Mr. Miyagi to a fight, but he refuses.

In the meantime, Daniel meets and falls for a local girl named Kumiko. However, her ex-boyfriend Toshio sees Daniel as a threat and confronts him. A fight ensues, and Daniel is saved by Mr. Miyagi's intervention.

The tensions between Sato and Mr. Miyagi continue to escalate when Sato gives him an ultimatum – fight him or he will destroy his village. Mr. Miyagi agrees to the fight, but with a twist – they will fight using a traditional Okinawan method called kata, rather than actual combat.

The movie climaxes with Mr. Miyagi and Sato's kata battle, and Daniel's fight against Chozen, Sato's nephew. Mr. Miyagi ultimately emerges victorious and finally reconciles with Sato. Daniel also defeats Chozen and wins Kumiko's heart.

The Karate Kid Part II explores themes of family, honor, and tradition, and was a commercial success, grossing over $115 million worldwide. It received mixed reviews from critics, but has since become a cult classic and a beloved sequel to the original film.
