The Japanese Wife Next Door

N/A  Japan

The Japanese Wife Next Door is a 2004 Japanese erotic comedy film directed by Yutaka Ikejima. The film's title is a play on words, as the word "wife" in Japanese (kanai) can also mean "in-law."

The film follows Takashi (played by Jo Shishido), an office worker who marries the beautiful and sexually voracious Sakura (Reiko Yamaguchi). However, Takashi soon finds himself unable to keep up with Sakura's insatiable desires, prompting her to turn to her new in-laws for sexual satisfaction.

The film features explicit sex scenes, including scenes of incest and group sex involving Takashi's sister, father, and grandfather.

Despite its controversial content, The Japanese Wife Next Door was a major box office success in Japan, spawning a sequel in 2005. The film has since become a cult classic among fans of Japanese pink cinema.
