The Island at the Top of the World was a 1974 adventure film produced by Walt Disney Productions. The film is set in the late 19th century and follows the wealthy industrialist, Sir Anthony Ross (played by Donald Sinden), who hires a team of experts to travel with him to the Arctic in search of his son Donald, who disappeared whilst on an expedition to find a lost Viking community.

The team consists of the seasoned explorer Captain Brieux (played by David Hartman), the widowed photographer Miss Frey (played by Mako Ishino), and an Eskimo guide named Oomiak (played by Chief Dan George). Together they embark on a perilous journey across the frozen tundra, facing treacherous weather conditions, hungry polar bears, and hostile Eskimos.

After several harrowing encounters, the team finally reaches the fabled island and finds the long-lost Viking community. However, their joy is short-lived, as they soon discover that the descendants of the original Viking settlers are fiercely protective of their isolation and will stop at nothing to keep their existence a secret.

The team must fight for their survival against the Vikings, who use their mastery of the elements and their knowledge of ancient weapons to repel the intruders. In the end, Sir Anthony Ross manages to rescue his son and escape with the rest of his team, but not before discovering the incredible secrets of the lost Viking community and the stunning beauty of the Arctic landscape.
