The Invoking is a horror movie directed by Jeremy Berg and co-written by Berg and John Portanova. The film follows the story of Samantha Harris (played by Trin Miller), who inherits a house from a family she didn't know existed. Along with three of her friends, she decides to visit the property and inspect it.
As they arrive at the house located in rural Sader Ridge, they find that it's secluded and eerie. Sam starts experiencing haunting visions of savage brutality and unspeakable evil. She soon learns that her family has been involved in dark and evil rituals that take place in the area.
As they explore the house, Sam finds an old book that suggests her family has a history of summoning demons. As the night progresses, the group realizes that they're not alone in the house, and something sinister is closing in on them.
The film uses jump scares, eerie sound effects, and unsettling imagery to create a feeling of dread and horror. It plays on the concept of a haunted house and supernatural possession. The Invoking is a slow burn horror that creeps up on you and keeps you compelled throughout.
